I am curious how you guys master several foreign languages.

9 p7 l1 a; N. b9 v4 b$ GFor me, it is really tough to learn and speak English and German simultaneously. I always learn one and forget the other.

You're right. It's really difficult to improve several languages in the mean while. Could be a very tough and painful process. So at the beginning you need to put an accent to one particular language and wait until it is significantly improved and almost reach the level of other languages to consider simultaneous learning.

Glad to do so. But in my opinion, to translate between German and English is much easier than between English or German and Chinese, 'cause German and English have similar expressions and language systems.

though she expressed that she was determinded to learn, the word "persistent" was  not really approriate in the context.

I really appreciate your way of learning English. To try to distinguish the subtle differences between similar words and expressions and put the right words in the proper situations would help a lot when you practise English writing.

; z- }7 @+ K; R% Q- a$ O( PI'm excited to see this interesting post and would like to be in. After lurking for so long, now just decided to "bump" again.

: b3 _$ y" y  p5 V/ z2 d; e6 y/ e% WFirstly, a short self-introduction , maybe.....I'm now studying Business Administration (BWL, Diplom, like many chinese people do here:)) specializing in Finance and Controlling. During my bechalor study, however, i majored in international Economy and Trade. Now i've been almost three and a half years in Germany. Just in last month i handed in my final thesis and expect to get the diploma soonly.
Since the most lectures at the university are given in German, my english has been getting worse and worse. Ich hope that all the good english-speakers around here would inspire me again to pick up my english.

I will drop by down here every day and at last wish you all have a nice day though!

To some extent. It helps you to improve English and German at the same time, although not as fast as when you focus on one particular language.

There're some minor mistakes though. You may express it this way: After being hiden for so long,  I finally decided to show up again. Just last week I handed in my final thesis and am expecting to get my dimploma soon.  "course" is a better word than “lecture", and "to brush up my English" is the proper expression.

I watched CNN news yesterday. But I couldn't even catch the exact meaning of a several-seconds news.  There were some words hurdled me.
It was about the recent air crash happened on its way from Brazil to France. More than 400 pieces of fragments of the air plane and around 50 of corpses were found.
. J$ G' q7 P+ Y. _% b' \Then it was further reported about  some Brazil offical Information.  That was the part that I totally did not understand.

He proclaimed that the gap of votes between the newly elected president and the opposition cadidate was too vast to enable manipulation and fraud. He also called for theo pposition supporters to dismiss the rally.

Acctually the Iranian president is just in the third place on the power chain, after the supreme leader and guardian council. I haven't been here for several days, in these days I was tired, lazy and didn't care my English so much.  As one says taht to do something every day is really not easy. I will try to look at this post every day as far as possible.  That will drive my motivation of learning English.

You're welcome. Just grab a book that fits you and study from the first page. Your english would definitly be improved a lot after you finish that book. The question is merely if you could persevere till the end. That's why you need communication and get yourself motivated.
